The plant I tried to kill...

After having read up more about amaryllis plants, and realizing that they need a period of hibernation, I tried to let it 'die' so that I could put the bulb in storage for a while.... well. It didn't die. It didn't stop growing. I stopped watering it, and didn't put it in the sun AT ALL. Yet, this happened.

And then I went back to the reading, and found that the hibernation period is after six months of leaf-only growth. I guess I will just have to keep watering it.
