Trans-continental trip...

Our most recent move to North Caroling necessitated driving our car across most of the US. It was a long long drive--needless to say! Eric and I tried to break up the trip with a visit to Amy and Justin in Iowa, with their great kids.
I always have so much fun with my nephews! It was kind of like a mini vacation between all the headache that always surrounds a big move. Our driving was quite long and eventful, but not disastrous--which is more than we can say for some of our moves!
We found that Frog even liked the diet coke that kept Eric going--much to my dismay! I know that it is harder now that he has diabetes, his drink options are limited so much more, but it still makes me sad about the amount of carbonation he is consuming~

On our second leg of the trip, the shorter part, the roads got so much worse!  And with all the ice, craziness of the drivers... insane. So we needed to take a break from the road, but had difficulty finding a place to stay.... all along the road so many places were out of power and so we kept driving for ever! But we finally found something in Renfro Valley. It was great.... even if the floor was covered with bugs, the shower didn't have hot water... but on the upside--we only paid about $45.00 for it. Oh well!
